Harvey Baxter

Harvey E. Baxter was born in Baltimore, Maryland. In 1952, his family moved from Lexington, Virginia to Gainesville, Florida. He graduated from Gainesville High School and then ventured to Nashville, Tennessee where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University. He served the United States Air Force for 25 years, active, Guard and Reserves. After active duty, he completed his Juris Doctor at University of Florida and received a Master of Arts in History from the University of Colorado. He worked in private practice for 20 years, then served the Eighth Judicial Circuit as a Judicial Hearing Officer for 17 years, returning to private practice in 2014. He joined Scruggs, Carmichael and Wershow in 2021.

Mr. Baxter is admitted to the Florida Bar. He is also a member of the Third Judicial Circuit Bar Association. He is very active with Rotary International and extremely passionate about literacy and health programs in Guatemala.

His area of practice is family law.

William R. Ezzell

William R. “Bill” Ezzell was born and raised in Gainesville, Florida, before attending and playing baseball at Emory University in Atlanta from 1995-1999. After Emory, Mr. Ezzell obtained his J.D. in 2002 from the University of Alabama School of Law, and has served as a trial attorney with two State Attorney’s Offices, the State of Florida’s Office of Regional Counsel, and in private practice. As a trial attorney, Mr. Ezzell has had the opportunity to handle every level of litigation, and has personally handled over 140 jury trials. In 2009, he was honored by the Gainesville Child Advocacy Center with their annual award for “Excellence in Service to Children,” and from 2005 through 2010 Mr. Ezzell served as an adjunct professor of law at both the University of Florida and Florida Coastal Schools of Law. In 2015 Mr. Ezzell completed a Master’s degree in History from the University of Florida, focusing on race and 20th century American social justice, and his written legal research works have been published in national law reviews three times.

Mr. Ezzell’s practice areas include commercial litigation, general civil litigation, criminal law and criminal litigation, criminal case sealing and expungements, driver’s license and motor vehicle administrative law, creditors’ rights, contract disputes, landlord/tenant (commercial and residential), real estate litigation, and general practice.

Maury Ivey

Maury Ivey

Maury Ivey was born in Gainesville, Florida in 1981. He received his B.A. from the University of Florida in 2013 and his J.D. from the University of Florida in 2018.

Mr. Ivey is admitted to the Florida Bar and is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section of the Florida Bar.

His practice areas include real property, estate planning and probate.

Stephanie Emrick

Stephanie EmrickStephanie Emrick was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania in 1982 and now lives in Williston, Florida with her husband and children. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business, cum laude, from the University of Florida Warrington College of Business in 2010. She received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, graduating first in her class, in 2017.

During her time in law school, Stephanie served as a Managing Editor for the Florida Law Review and was awarded eight book awards for attaining the highest grade in her class. Stephanie authored a real property law paper that was published in the Florida Law Review and co-authored a related paper that was selected for publication in the Maryland Law Review.

Stephanie is admitted to the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Middle and Northern Districts of Florida. She is a member of the Florida Bar and the Young Lawyers Division of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association.

Stephanie’s practice areas include real property and title litigation, representing clients in real property transactions, probate and probate litigation, bankruptcy creditor representation, and general civil litigation.

Kevin Jurecko was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1967. He received his B.A. from the University of Alabama in 1989, and his J.D. from Loyola University in 1992.

Mr. Jurecko is admitted to the Florida and Georgia Bars, as well as the United States District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Florida. Jeffrey Dollinger was born in Philadelphia in 1960. He attended the University of Florida, receiving his undergraduate degree in 1981 and his J.D. in 1986. He was a Beta Alpha Psi Member (1980-1981). He also became a Certified Public Accountant in Florida in 1982.

Mr. Dollinger is admitted to the Florida Bar, the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Tax Court.
